WHY WE LOVE THIS BOX: The inspiration for Family Meal came from the chefs at our partner restaurants. The meal eaten amongst restaurant staff before a shift is called 'Family Meal'. Family meal cooking is honest, hardy, and, most often, made with whatever provisions happen to be on hand that day. We've taken that same spirit and applied it to this box.

Our farmers send us whole animals, and until the day comes when a steer is bred to be ribeye from nose to tail, we'll continue to have some cuts that sell faster than others. To give some well-deserved attention to the cuts we have in abundance, we include them in this box. Don't worry; we won't send you organs, bones, or fat...unless you ask for it.

  • 10 lb assortment of meat per box
  • Ships frozen
  • Shelf life: Seven days (three days for bone-in cuts) in the fridge or up to one year frozen
  • Let thaw in the refrigerator. For smaller pieces of meat, less than 1 lb, if you transfer to the fridge, it should be ready for dinner. For larger cuts, allow at least 24 hours, sometimes more

  • FROM THE CHEF: You may get a few items that you’re not accustomed to cooking- that’s the beauty of family meal! Stretch your limits a bit. We’ve got several recipes available to help you make the most of your meat.

RAISED RESPONSIBLY: Like all of our meat, the meat in this box comes from farmers who raise their animals with respect. They follow strict animal-welfare guidelines. These farmers work hard every day, and in return, we take care of them by paying fair and consistent prices for their animals. We think that makes sense.
